Bob Letellier |
From day one, working within the automotive industry has been a vision for Bob Letellier. Today, he has established himself - not only in the used car business, but also on the NHRA Lucas Oil drag racing circuit as well.
Bob started racing locally at New England Dragway when he was just 17 years old. He claimed the points championship in Heavy Eliminator for three consecutive years in a row, which then sparked his interest in the NHRA sportsman sector. Bob started racing Stock eliminator with his 1969 Chevrolet Nova and in 1984 won his first of two NHRA National Event titles in Montreal, Canada. That year, he finished 2nd in the NHRA stock eliminator world points chase with the same car.
With his entrepreneurial approach and other work/family obligations, Bob took time to focus on his business and took a break from racing for a few years. In 1998 Letellier made a triumphant comeback and was crowned the Stock Eliminator Champion with the same Chevy Nova at the Mopar Parts National Event in Englishtown, NJ. Three years later, Letellier won Stock Eliminator at the Keystone Nationals in Reading, PA making it his fourth National Event title of his career. His competitive touch continued in 2002 with a win in Super Stock at the divisional in Numidia, PA, and a runner-up finish in Super Stock in 2004 at the Toyo Tires Nationals in Reading, PA.
A few of his most recent accomplishments have been held with his Bob’s Auto Sales Pontiac Firebird’s. Letellier was crowned the Stock Eliminator Champion at the 2007 Lucas Oil Divisional in Englishtown, New Jersey along with a 2009 Super Stock Divisional title at the IHRA Pro-Am in Epping, New Hampshire. Additionally, Bob Letellier has been featured in many racing media outlets including ESPN2, SPEED, National Dragster, and Drag Review.
